Road Trip

Here's my adventure across the country, from Pennsylvania, stopping in Idaho, and ending in Utah.  Mary was the first to drive.  I took the wheel after a while Leaving Pennsylvania and entering Ohio. (We stopped at every state sign, minus Illinois, because there wasn't one.) A picture of Mary and I, with me driving Leaving Ohio and entering Indiana. I like our shadows. I'm on the left, and Mary's on the right.  You get a little stir crazy after being in a car for a while.  Mary and I at a restaurant in Chicago. We got great pizza.  The night we were in Chicago was New Years Eve, so we went to the Navy Pier for fireworks and music and dancing, etc. So much fun.  Inside the Navy Pier. Mary and I inside. Leaving Illinois and entering Iowa. Apparently the world's largest truck stop is in Iowa. Who knew.  Leaving Iowa and entering Nebraska.  Did I mention that you get stir crazy after a while? Leaving Nebraska and entering Wyoming.  The next day we made it to Rexburg, Id

23 questions

Within the book Sex Drugs and Cocoa Puffs, by Chuck Klosterman, he poses a list of 23 questions that he wants to ask people to see if they can be friends. I love these questions, so I will share them now. 1. Let us assume you met a rudimentary magician. Let us assume he can do five simple tricks--he can pull a rabbit out of his hat, he can make a coin disappear, he can turn the ace of spades into the Joker card, and two others in a similar vein. These are his only tricks and he can't learn any more; he can only do these five. HOWEVER, it turns out he's doing these five tricks with real magic. It's not an illusion; he can actually conjure the bunny out of the ether and he can move the coin through space. He's legitimately magical, but extremely limited in scope and influence. Would this person be more impressive than Albert Einstein? 2. Let us assume a fully grown, completely healthy Clydesdale horse has his hooves shackled to the ground while his head is held in place w

It's been a crazy week and a half

So, the day after Christmas, I headed out to PA to spend some time with a good friend of mine. I've been in a car while we cut through a tiny corner of PA before, but never really spent time there, so it was a lot of fun to actually be there and hang out. So I was there until the next Wednesday when that morning my friend and I drove across the country back to Utah, which is where I am currently. It was a fun trip. New Years Eve we spent at the Navy Pier in Chicago and had a blast. We drove through PA, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Iowa, Nebraska, Wyoming and into Utah. (The only states we didn't get to that 80 goes through at New Jersey, Nevada and California.) It's been a lot of fun. I head back to Texas on Thursday, and look for jobs. Wahoo. And pictures of the exciting adventure will come soon.
