The Return of "The L Word"

On January 31, 2019 it was announced that The L Word is officially getting a sequel and lesbians around the world rejoiced. The series originally ran on Showtime from January 18, 2004 to March 8, 2009. I bought the first couple of seasons on DVD while I was a BYU student in 2006. And while I wasn’t “out,” I was out without being out. I displayed the box sets prominently on my bookshelf in my tiny apartment bedroom where I also had posters for the films Imagine Me and You , Brokeback Mountain and RENT hanging on my walls. When the show debuted, most of the gay TV shows were primarily about gay men. Now, because of The L Word , you can turn on the TV and, on many shows, you will see women presenting themselves as gay, lesbian, queer, trans and everything in between. That representation matters. Oh the random quizzes I've taken

So, for whatever reason, I'm bored today, and have been taking many a random quiz on facebook. And for the most part, the answers seem to fit me well. Here's what I've taken. What Grey's Anatomy Character Are You? Which Office Character Are You? How Sarcastic Are You, Really? How Random is Your Bible Knowledge? What Should Your Major Be? Which Gossip Girl Character Are You? What Wicked Character Are You? Which Historical Female Figure Are You? Which House M.D. Character Are You? What New York City Borough Are You? (notice the tv character quizzes. I may watch too much television) So the Grey's Anatomy Quiz was wrong because it told me that I'm Christina, when I am clearly Meredith. I'm dark and twisty inside, and have abandonment issues. Kat is Christina. Come on, this clip says it all. I am Meredith, and Kat is Christina kicking me out of bed.) It's been a while

Yeah, I know, I haven't updated in a really long time. So...what's new in the world of Lauren? Well, I went to California for the first time, for Thanksgiving. That was quite the adventure. I made it all the way through Utah, across a 16 mile spread of Arizona, down through Vegas, a little ways into California the rear wheel on the driver side of my car blows. My car started shaking, and I pulled off the road immediately, and my tire was shredded. It was insane. I've never seen a tire like that. (I should have taken a picture or it, but I was too shaken up.) Luckily I have 24 hour road side service, and they came and changed my tire. I'm then driving on the spare, and not long after that, the other back tire starts to go. I'm like 30 miles from Kat's place, so I just got towed there. That was an adventure in and of itself.
