A Tribute to my Nana

Image
My Nana was a wonderful woman, and is definitely missed. She's probably one of the kindest people I have ever had the opportunity of knowing. While we were getting ready for her memorial service I had the opportunity of digging through old photos to come up with a slide show. We ended up using 124 pictures in the slide show, and I think people enjoyed it. I've decided to share some of my personal favorite pictures of my Nana. I think I like this picture so much because of the contrast between the dark colors that Nana is wearing and the white rock behind her. It strikes me for some reason. I think it's beautiful. Nana loved nature. (You'll probably come to realize that when looking at these pictures.) This is from my last October in Provo when Nana, Karen, Emily and Kara came to visit me. I liked when they came to visit and that time we went to Cornbelly's. Nana had a great sense of humor. I'm very glad that Nana was able to come to my college gradua...

My nana

Yesterday, my sweet, loving nana passed away. She was my last living grandparent, and is very missed. I've been lucky to have her with me in my life for so long. I've also been lucky to live in the same city as her for most of my life. She was one of the nicest people, always serving others, and her passing has certainly left a hole. A memorial service will be held for her this coming Saturday, August 27th and the Forest Hill building of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 6300 Crawford Ln W, Forest Hill, Texas. Here are a couple of my favorite pictures of us. The first is at my college graduation. The second is when she came with my aunt Karen, Emily and Kara to visit me, and we went to Cornbelly's. She had a great sense of humor. Nana, we love you and miss you.

The recent happenings

Well, I finished the CD. It's pretty exciting, if I do say so myself. But, then again, I may be a wee bit biased. But, it has a lot of fun songs on it. No, it's not a CD of originals, but it's my favorite songs of the moment, and I hope that everyone enjoys it. I had the opportunity of playing at the Etsy Fort Worth Cowtown Indie Bazaar on the 19th, and it was a lot of fun. Here's a picture. It was a great opportunity and experience, and I played a fun set. I realized that I might have a small obsession with One Republic, because I think I played three of their songs. And in a couple of weeks, I'll be back at the Downtown Arlington Farmer's market singing, which I'm looking forward to. On April 9th, the Etsy817 group is doing their show at the Downtown Arlington Farmer's market, which my sister will be a part of (check out her blog - http://julieiscocoandcocoa.blogspot.com/ ). And that's pretty much all that's happening with me. Be sure ...

I know, I know, I'm a slacker in keeping this updated, but here I am again! So, recently I've been working on a set list for the Cowtown Indie Bazaar, done by Etsy Fort Worth , which everyone should go to. (Check out their blog, they talked about me!) Here's a few of the songs I'll be covering in my set: Standing Still - by Jewel Rocket Man - by Elton John Accidentally in Love - by The Counting Crows Only The Good Die Young - by Billy Joey And you'll just have to come check it out to find out the rest of the songs. I'm also working on recording an album. This album will showcase some of my favorite songs, such as: Brave - by Idina Menzel Gravity - by Sara Bareilles Viva la Vida - by Coldplay Fancy - by Reba McEntire And more! Just wait for it friends.
